RG III Chooses Custom By Trade To Launch RG3Sports.com
Robert Griffin III, the National Football League quarterback currently playing for the Baltimore Ravens, has partnered with Custom By Trade to launch his personal website, RG3Sports.com.
Custom By Trade specializes in bringing ideas, concepts, and personal branding to life through a combination of design, production, and marketing.
Many football fans remember Griffin as the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from Baylor University, who won the award in 2011 after setting 26 single-season records during his senior season.
Griffin would parlay that success into becoming the 2nd overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, selected by the Washington Redskins. In his rookie season, Griffin led the Redskins to a 10-6 record, and their third NFC East division title since the turn of the century. By season’s end, Griffin had set the record for the highest passer rating by a rookie quarterback (102.4). That success earned him the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2012, and a selection to the Pro Bowl all-star game.
Griffin’s website, RG3Sports.com, does more than simply showcase his accomplishments on the gridiron. An avid philanthropist and an inspirational figure to so many athletes, a large portion of Griffin’s site is dedicated to showcasing the Robert Griffin III foundation. This namesake non-profit foundation’s mission is to discover, design, and support programs that benefit struggling military families, underprivileged youth, and the victims of domestic violence.
As the son of two former military members, Griffin states on his site: “With this foundation, I want people to understand that their dreams aren’t out of reach, and that anything is possible.”
Fans of the award-winning quarterback can also find plenty of information about Griffin and his family as well. In addition to posting regular updates to some of his non-NFL news and updates – including his recent induction into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame – Griffin also has widgets which showcase his always-active social media feeds; he is a regular presence on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, often posting family photos and/or inspirational messages.
The site also devotes a section to showcasing Glow Fitness, the in-home fitness consulting service provided by his wife, Grete Griffin (née Šadeiko). Mrs. Griffin herself was a former Professional and Division I athlete who competed in the World Junior and European track and field championships. Griffin devised the program as part of her efforts to get back into competition shape after the birth of the couple’s two daughters.
